Nas waited to release his 'The Lost Tapes 2' until he was free from Def Jam, on his own bought and rebranded label, Mass Appeal. And because some of these leftover recordings were recorded previously, the project is half backed by his former label. But fret not, this is the last Nas project to do so. This project was hyped up for the longest due to producers he had linked up with. For me, a die-hard Wu-Tang fan, none sparked my interest more than RZA. Nas spittin knowledge over RZA beats? Take my money! And while the compilation gets downplayed alot by critics and fans, I feel because it becomes unfairly compared to the first from 2002, a wildly different time period and landscape of rap and his younger years' earlier cut content, I enjoyed alot from this. "No Bad Energy" and the RZA-produced "Tanasia" are my top standouts. I'm not interested in what the critics say; the so-called hip-hop media is out of touch with what hip-hop is supposed to sound like and have an Anti-Legend Agenda.
