For the first time ever, the legendary "Purple Tape" is available as a double cassette, celebrating 30 years since its groundbreaking release on August 1, 1995.

 

This 30th anniversary edition of Only Built 4 Cuban Linx... includes:

Tape 1: The full original album

Tape 2: Instrumental versions of the album, never before released on cassette

 

Created in collaboration with Mass Appeal, Sony Music, and Raekwon, this limited edition was built from scratch using Danny Hastings' original photography from the iconic 1995 cover shoot. The packaging also revives the original hype sticker and features a new OBI strip printed with Rae’s signature, “Shallah Raekwon” (IYKYK), just like it appeared on the rare first pressings of the OG purple tape.

 

This is the definitive collector’s edition: the first-ever double cassette version of Only  Built 4 Cuban Linx… and the first time the instrumentals have been released on tape. Available exclusively through Raekwon’s official store and Mass Appeal.

 

And for one lucky Gambino: a 1-of-1 copy, signed by both Raekwon and Ghostface Killah, has been encapsulated and authenticated by AMG Grading and is currently up for auction via at Goldin Auctions.

Got it but came with the black OBI strip instead of the original Purple OBI strip with the Wu tang logo in front like I had purchased was definitely a disappointment.

One of the cassette tapes came cracked due to it not being packaged in cardboard. It was just thrown in a slim bubble poly bag. I was dissappointed it came cracked. Im a huge Hip Hop Collector and that cracked case that broke made the value in the cassette go down.
